DNS Server Special Testing Procedure

DNS server special testing procedure is oriented for .RU registrants, if there is a need to test function of DNS servers listed in domain data base. The procedure is launched in manual mode for any domain. If DNS server list ceased to comply with the requirements of i. 3.2 of Domains Registration Schedule in RU TLD, domain delegation may be suspended.

In course of the session to be held every 3 hours, all queries to DNS server will cease, if zone testing of any domain owned by any User reveals failure of this DNS server: the server does not exist, inaccessible or fails to respond to queries for any protocol used in testing.

A repeated query to DNS server will take place for the next test session (in 3-4 hours).

This testing method is similar to standard test procedure.

In case of test failure, a notification letter with DNS server test failure together with the error diagnostics message will be sent to the mnt-nfy address, specified in the Registrant's Agreement.

If the zone has not been tested within four days, testing will stop, and a test failure notification letter will be sent to the mnt-nfy address specified in the Registrant's Agreement. Domain delegation will therefore be suspended. However, the domain will not be released and deleted from the data base.
