Sunrise Registration Terms for Mass Media

Sunrise requests are accepted from the mass media owners, which products are subject to distribution on entire RF territory.

A domain name registered shall:

  • fully reproduce the name of the mass media holding or match the name of mass media holding upon omission of spaces and special graphical characters ("&", "+", etc.) or their replacement with hyphens;
  • reproduce the name of the mass media holding as a transcription or transliteration, if the name of the mass media or its part are composed of scripts other than Cyrillic;
  • meet general technical requirements for .РФ domains registration.

If the name of the mass media holding has in its verbal part a TLD ending (including "dot" character, for example: ".RU", ".COM", etc.) or their transliteration («.РУ», «.КОМ», etc.), the owner is entitled to omit such endings from a domain name registered;

This way, the owner of mass media "ДОМЕННЫЕ ИМЕНА" is eligible for registration of the below domain names:

— доменныеимена.рф
— доменные-имена.рф



Attention: if a mass media holding has more than one owner, a written approval from the remaining owners for .РФ sunrise domain registration in the name of the applicant should also be submitted to RU-CENTER.


General Technical Requirements

  • The minimum domain name length makes 2 characters (.РФ symbols excluded).
  • The representation length must not exceed 63 characters (.РФ symbols excluded).
  • The domain name shall begin and end with a Cyrillic alphabet letter or numeral.
  • The Cyrillic alphabet letters, numerals or hyphens shall serve as intermediate symbols.
