New Stage of .ÐÔ Domains Sunrise Registration

On May 12, at 12:00 MSK a new stage of .ÐÔ domains sunrise registration will be launched to last till September 30, 2010 inclusive.

From May 12 owners of the trademarks, containing in their verbal part scripts other than Cyrillic are eligible for a sunrise registration of .ÐÔ domains.

A sun-rise registration request for .ÐÔ domain name registration may be accepted only, if the requested domain name matches the verbal part of the trademark after:

• omission of unprotected elements from the trademark verbal part;
• transliteration and/or transcription of trademark verbal components composed of scripts other than Cyrillic;
• omission of domain extensions, including a "dot" symbol from the trademark verbal part (for example owner of trademark "NIC.RU" or "ÍÈÊ.ÐÓ" may equally apply for a registration of ÍÈÊ.ÐÔ and ÍÈÊÐÓ.ÐÔ domain names);
• omission from the trademark verbal part of verbal elements composed of the scripts other than Russian Cyrillic, and considered as transliteration or transcription of a similar trademark element composed of Russian Cyrillic scripts (for example owner of trademark "Äîìåíèíû Domeniny" is eligible for ÄÎÌÅÍÈÍÛ.ÐÔ registration);

As part of the second stage, starting from July 15, the following persons are eligible for a domain name sunrise registration in ÐÔ TLD:

• Exclusive owners of trademarks;
• Exclusive owners for geographical indications of goods origin;
• Non-profit organizations;
• Mass media.
